LTT-1 (Learning Training Teaching activities)
Event Date: 25.03.2025 – 29.03.2025
Event Location: SETA Headquarters - Istanbul, Türkiye

The first Learning, Teaching, and Training (LTT-1) activity of the project Civil Society Initiatives Strengthened with Information and Data Security was held at SETA Headquarters in Istanbul. The five-day program aimed to raise awareness of digital safety and promote fundamental cybersecurity knowledge among participants from partner countries.

The training combined theoretical insights with engaging hands-on activities, covering key topics such as data protection, secure internet use, and basic digital communication tools. Hosted by SETA and ANKA, the sessions provided an interactive and practical approach to increasing cyber awareness for everyday digital life.

The agenda opened with an introduction to digital security basics. Participants engaged in intercultural ice-breaking activities and explored foundational concepts of data, data security, and cybersecurity through real-life examples. The following sessions built upon this knowledge, encouraging participants to examine daily digital threats, encryption methods, and user errors in group exercises.

On the second day, the focus shifted to personal data privacy. Trainers introduced the key legal frameworks—KVKK and GDPR—and shared tips on securing personal data in routine digital interactions. Simple scenario-based group work, covering topics like phone and email security, helped participants visualize and apply privacy strategies in practice.

Day three explored safe internet and social media usage. With support from ANKA, participants learned how to spot risks in the digital environment, including fake accounts and phishing traps. Interactive games such as "Catch the Phishing!" made the learning process fun and engaging.

The fourth day addressed secure communication practices. Participants were introduced to secure messaging apps such as Signal, Telegram, and WhatsApp, and practiced using basic encryption techniques. Through workshops and a group game titled "Encrypt My Message!", attendees strengthened their understanding of secure digital interaction.

On the final day, a cyber crisis simulation helped participants apply their learning in a collaborative setting. Groups tackled fictional digital threats and misinformation scenarios before sharing their reflections. The program concluded with a feedback session and a celebratory certificate ceremony.

Overall, the LTT-1 training was a successful and dynamic learning experience, equipping participants with essential knowledge on digital safety and personal data protection. It also laid the foundation for stronger cross-country collaboration in empowering civil society through digital resilience and cybersecurity awareness.

LTT-2 (Learning, Teaching and Training Activities)
Event Date: 18.08.2025 – 22.08.2025
Event Location: SETA Brussels – Brussels, Belgium

The second Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTT-2) of the project Civil Society Initiatives Strengthened with Information and Data Security (Project No: 2023-1-TR01-KA220-YOU-000161230) was successfully held in Brussels, Belgium, between 18–22 August 2025. Hosted by SETA Brussels, the programme brought together participants from Türkiye, Norway, North Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, representing civil society organizations and partner institutions.

The programme focused on New Generation Security Threats in the New Information Era, with particular emphasis on disinformation, its psychological impacts, media literacy, and social engineering threats. Throughout the week, participants engaged in interactive lectures, case studies, and hands-on exercises delivered by experts including Prof. Dr. Erman Akıllı and Prof. Dr. Murat Yeşiltaş from the SETA Foundation. Sessions explored the dynamics of disinformation, misinformation, and malinformation; the use of information as a manipulative tool; and the psychological mechanisms behind disinformation campaigns. Practical workshops enabled participants to apply source verification techniques, analyse real-life cases, and conduct scenario-based risk analysis. Open discussion sessions (“Open Mic”) encouraged participants to share insights and reflect on how to adapt lessons to their professional contexts.

LTT-2 strengthened participants’ technical knowledge of data and information security and enhanced their ability to identify and respond to manipulative information in their local environments. The outcomes will be disseminated through the project’s communication channels, partner organizations, and targeted community outreach to ensure that the skills and knowledge gained in Brussels have a lasting impact.

Event Location: Youth Cultural Center (YCC) - Skopje, North Macedonia

The third Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTT-3) of the project Civil Society Initiatives Strengthened with Information and Data Security (Project No: 2023-1-TR01-KA220-YOU-000161230) was successfully carried out in Skopje, North Macedonia, between 19–23 January 2026. Hosted by the Macedonian Human Resources Association (MHRA), the activity brought together representatives of civil society organizations from Türkiye, Norway, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia.

LTT-3 focused on the Digital Cooperation and Sharing Training Program for Civil Society Organizations, aiming to strengthen participants’ practical capacities in digital communication, collaboration, and secure information sharing. Throughout the five-day programme, participants engaged in interactive sessions, workshops, and applied exercises addressing key topics such as digital transformation for NGOs, digital hygiene and security, digital reputation and crisis management, audience segmentation, and impact-oriented communication strategies.

The programme placed strong emphasis on hands-on learning. Participants worked on real-life scenarios related to content strategy, digital monitoring, and crisis response, while also exploring the effective use of digital tools such as Google Forms for data collection and platforms for digital listening. Dedicated sessions on artificial intelligence and generative media introduced participants to AI fundamentals, prompt engineering, and creative applications for text and visual production, enabling civil society actors to better adapt to emerging digital trends.

Training sessions were delivered by Ali Selim Kara, an experienced communication specialist and trainer with extensive background in youth work, non-formal education, and digital content strategy. His facilitation combined technical expertise with participatory methods, encouraging active engagement, peer learning, and intercultural exchange among participants.

The final day of LTT-3 focused on data visualization, project output review, and evaluation, allowing participants to reflect on learning outcomes and discuss how the newly acquired skills could be transferred to their organizational contexts. Daily evaluation sessions and open discussions throughout the week supported continuous feedback and collective reflection.

LTT-3 significantly strengthened participants’ competencies in digital cooperation, strategic communication, and secure information sharing within civil society organizations.
